#Cosmopolis program starting, clip playing. @wittertainment @KermodeMovie

I just want to sound sexy– Rob (after problem with the microphone) #Cosmopolis #Pattinson

Cronenberg asked to explain the film. Travel on 47th to get to a haircut. Wonderful plot, lots happen in and out of limo. #Cosmopolis

The travelling that day has a lot of resonance for the character, Eric Packer. #Cosmopolis

#Pattinson difficult character to explain. On surface not even real human being- kind of a ghost. World is abstraction to him. #Cosmopolis

Pattinson on working with #Cronenberg: was a big fan, had Scanners poster on my wall. #Cosmopolis

Less scary working with accomplished filmmakers. That and good cast makes job easier. #Pattinson @bbc5live

Pattinson loves lyricism of the writing. never read any DeLillo before, so was foreign and jarring, at least in script form. #Cosmopolis

Figure out how to say “What” without it sounding like a question. #Pattinson

Cronenberg jokes he didn’t really want Robert, everyone else did. His agents offered a lot of private money (Joking! lol) #Cosmopolis

Cronenberg, specific NY accent they wanted. Dialect guy helped Rob finesse. Reviews take for granted he can do this, but it’s hard to do.

#Pattinson: first reaction to reading #Cosmopolisscript, this is impossible! Waited wk to respond, how 2say no? But easy at shoot.

Cronenberg- when an actor suddenly hits with a movie, famous in hysterical way, this isn’t really a choice.#Cosmopolis

London Whale mention again. An accident of art. (Life mirroring act). Inevitablity have a clairvoyance (Delillo and today’s economic event.)

#Cronenberg while making movie, realized the world was catching up with DeLillo’s novel #Cosmopolis

And that’s a wrap for #Pattinson #Cronenberg interview! Soon the hosts @wittertainment@KermodeMovie give review of #Cosmopolis@bbc5live

We’ve listened to review, it’s hard to tweet it, will summarize in post once we have audio. #Cosmopolis

Short story-not visceral, feels not film to engage emotionally, for this reviewer, but may be “hard-wired” for this. Deliberate? #Cosmopolis

Adding f/BBC review: Pattinson really good. Many actors in his position wouldn’t have take film w/that scene- prostrate exam…. #Cosmopolis

…”There’s something interesting-scene provoked something in me” (funny pun not intended, lol.) He’s talking emotional response #Cosmopolis

BBC reviewer notes @CatherineBray who he respects made v. good & coherent argument for why she thinks #Cosmopolis nearly perfect, our link->

We tweeted that we’d relate more on this host’s review of Cosmopolis, which didn’t work as well for him as it did Bray. He said that Cronenberg really works on a visceral level, this reviewer feels it is necessary to provoke a visceral response in cinema, but he didn’t connect this way with the film. He suggests in Cosmopolis maybe Cronenberg “worked up from the body to the brain.”  He sees the film raising interesting questions, attempting to do something fairly experimental.

He praises Pattinson as really good, again, here, and spoke of Bray’s different opinion, who “made a very good and coherent argument that the film was almost perfect.” [Catherine Bray is affiliated with BBC as well, as a regular guest presenter on BBC's Film 2012. She is editor of Film4.com, where she writes about films.]

Hope this all was helpful.
