Not a mirage but an homage? Premiere France’s Cannes edition 2012 cover & Pattinson, Cannes 2009
Cannes Photoshoot Robert Pattinson Robert Pattinson - AppearancesIt struck us looking at the cover of this film magazine’s Cannes edition, that the shirt Robert Pattinson is wearing under his tuxedo jacket closely resembles what he wore previously at Cannes. As we just posted, the Premiere Cannes edition 2012 photoshoot reflected Rob’s idea to create an homage to David Cronenberg’s filmography. Fantastic idea!
Likewise, we see a nod of recognition to the 23-year old actor who created a sensation three years ago at the La Croisette photocall.

It’s a nice touch, the earlier Rob now dressed up in a daring-colored tuxedo jacket. To us, this cover communicates that Mr. Pattinson is coming to this Cannes matured– as an actor and as a man of 26. He’s a more experienced actor–with a bright future–going into Cannes with, as he himself reported, five films in the works.
Indeed, in its report on its cover story, Premiere speaks of Robert’s transition to adulthood:
“[Being cast in this film] offered him not only a passport to [a career] post-Twilight, but also an opportunity to come and celebrate in style this shattering transition to adulthood on the steps of Cannes on May 25th.”
