Still More Anticipation for Cosmopolis
Cosmopolis is still generating interest in even more 2012 Anticipated Film lists!
The Film Stage.com having faith in all decisions Cronenberg has rated Cosmopolis #20 on their 145 Most Anticipated Films of 2012.
Why You Should Look Forward To It: Although the films he has made in the 21st Century are not quite as wildly eccentric as his earlier ones were, David Cronenberg still inserts a sense that nothing is at it seems and brings the twists and turns along the way that make his work so intense and intriguing. With Cosmopolis, the opportunity for paranoia is too good to pass up. His decision to make Robert Pattinson the star bewildered some, but I have faith in his decisions. Expect the unexpected. – Jack C
Ion Cinema.com has Cosmopolis ranked #28 on their Top 100 list. They are looking forward to the international cast.
List Worthy Reasons…: Supplied with a strong Euro and North American cast, apparently Cronenberg’s adaptation of Don DeLillo’s work is fairly strong. The novel is a modern re-interpretation of James Joyce’s Ulysses smack dab in NYC’s corporate world.
One of Sound on Sight.org‘s favorite directors is David Croeneberg, so it is no surprise that Cosmopolis made his Top 30 list, coming in at #15.
A bunch of Cronenberg’s favourite themes are explored, including man’s relationship with modern technology, murder and yes, sexual obsession. Apart from Pattinson, the impressive cast also includes Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu Amalric.
