Robert Pattinson – Actor (English) He is portraying Eric Packer, a self-employed, billionaire currency and hedge fund trader in NYC. At the suggestion of his father, as a teenager he started acting as an amateur with the Barnes Theater Company in his neighborhood of Barnes, England. Best Known Role – Edward Cullen in the five-movie Twilight Series. Rob won Best Actor at the Strasbourg International Film Festival for his role as Art in How to Be (2008). Also in 2008, Rob received positive reviews for his portrayal of young Salvador Dali in Little Ashes and it was the Dali performance and Tyler Hawkins opposite Pearce Brosnan and Emilie DeRavin in Remember Me (2010) that convinced David Cronenberg he had the talent and screen presence to play Packer, who carries the entire film, being in every scene. Rob also received positive notice for his portrayal of Depression-era Jacob Jankowski opposite Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz, in Water for Elephants (2011) based on the the popular novel by Sara Gruen. Edit 12/12: Robert Pattinson has been praised profusely for his performance as Packer, and now reportedly (his own report) he has ten films lined up for 2013. Paul Giamatti – Actor (American) He is portraying Benno Levin. He studied and received a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Drama at Yale University. Best Known Role – Joe Gould in Cinderella Man(2005). Paul has been nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA and won the Golden Globe and the SAG award for best supporting actor in his role as Joe Gould. Paul was nominated for a Golden Globe and a SAG award for best actor for his role as Miles Raymond in Sideways (2004). He was nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA and a Golden Globe and won the SAG award for best supporting actor in his role as Joe Gould. He won an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe and the SAG Award for best actor for his portrayal as the title role in the TV miniseries John Adams(2008). Most recently, he was awarded another Golden Globe for his role as Barney Panofsky in the film Barney’s Vision.
Juliette Binoche – Actor (French). She is portraying Eric’s art dealer Didi Fancher. She started acting in amateur theater and studied acting at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts of Paris. She also took acting lessons with famed coach, Vera Gregh. Best Known Role – Hana in The English Patient (1996). For her role as Hana, Juliette won an Oscar and a BAFTA Award and was nominated for a Golden Globe. She was also nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Vianne in Chocolat(2000). Juliette was also nominated for an additional Golden Globe for her work as Julie Vignon-de Courcy in the drama, Three Colors – Blue(1993).
Mathieu Amalric – Actor (French). He is portraying Andre Petrescu, the pie assasin. He started in the film industry as a trainee assistant film director and an assistant editor. Best Known Role – Dominic Green in Quantum of Solace (2008). Mathieu has won the Cesar Award for his roles as Jean-Do in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly(2007), Ishmael Vuillard in Kings and Queens(2004) and Paul Dedaldus in My Sex Life…..or How I Got into and Argument (1996).
Samantha Morton – Actor (British). She is portraying Vija Kinsky, Eric’s Chief of Theory. She trained for acting at the Central Junior Television Workshop in Nottingham, England. Best Known Role – Agatha in Minority Report (2002). Samantha was nominated for an Academy Award for her role as Sarah in In America (2003). She was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her role as Hattie in Sweet and Lowdown (1999). For her role as Myra Hindley in Longford (2006), she won a Golden Globe and was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award. She was nominated for a BAFTA Film Award for her role as Debbie Curtis in Control (2007). The Unloved (2009), for which Samantha was the director and screenplay writer, won the BAFTA TV Award for the Best Single Drama.
Sarah Gadon – Actor (Canadian). She is portraying Elise Shifrin, Eric’s wife. Sarah studied at the Claude Watson School of Performing Arts. Best Known Role – Georgia Bravin in the TV series Happy Town (2010). She was nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Individual or Ensemble Performance in an Animated Program or Series for her work as the title character for the TV show Ruby Gloom (2006-2007). Jay Baruchel – Actor (Canadian). He is portraying co-founder and chief of technology, Shiner. He attended the Fine Arts Core Educational School in Montreal, and began to study acting at age 12. Best Known Roles – Kevin Sandusky in Tropic Thunder (2008) and the voice of Hiccup in How to Train Your Dragon (2010). Jay was nominated for a Genie award for Best Performance by an Actor for his role as Leon Bronsetin in The Trotsky (2009).
Kevin Durand – Actor (Canadian). He is portraying Torval, Eric’s chief of security. Kevin started acting at the age of 15 and got his first role in 1997. Best Known Role – Martin Keamy in Lost (2008-2010). He was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Guest Starring Role in a TV series for his work as Keamy on Lost (2009).
Emily Hampshire – Actor (Canadian). She is portraying Jane Melman, Eric’s Chief of Finance. Emily first foray into acting was her high school drama class. She joined the Young Performers of Canada and after being spotted by a casting director, she was cast in her first role at the age of 14. Best Known Role – Chanel in It’s a Boy Girl Thing (2006). Emily has been nominated for three Genie Awards for her roles as Dot in A Problem with Fear (2003), Noelle in Blood (2004) and as Vivenne in Snow Cake (2006).
Patricia McKenzie – Actor (Canadian). She is portraying Kendra Hayes, one of Eric’s body guards. In addition to acting, Patricia is a professional singer and dancer and has appeared in both musical and theater productions, including the Canadian production of The Lion King. She has been nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actress for her role as Reena in Charlie Jade (2005).
Gouchy Boy – Actor (Canadian). He is portraying Kosmo Thomas, a record producer friend of Eric’s, who he meets on the street during his journey. Gouchy Boy is also a Hip Hop, R&B and Rap artist. He has appeared in a number of films including Max Payne (2008), The Last Kiss (2006), Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2005) and Bait (2000).
